Together, we create a personalized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle recommendations, or additional evaluation if needed.

What conditions do you treat?

Minds At Work Psychiatry treats a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, mood disorders, stress-related concerns, insomnia, trauma-related symptoms, and other psychiatric conditions in adults.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes. Medication management is offered when clinically appropriate as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

Do you provide therapy?

Accepted Answer

Appointments include supportive psychotherapy, education, coping strategies, and medication management when appropriate. Patients needing intensive weekly psychotherapy may be referred to a therapist for additional support.

How quickly can I get scheduled?

We strive to make care accessible and timely. New patient appointments are often available within 1 week, depending on scheduling availability. Please contact the office or request an appointment online for current openings.

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All appointments are conducted securely through telehealth, allowing you to attend visits from anywhere in Arizona using your phone, tablet, or computer.

Do I need to be located in Arizona during my appointment?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Patients must be physically located in Arizona at the time of their telehealth visit.

Can controlled medications be prescribed through telehealth visits?

Accepted Answer

Yes. When clinically appropriate, controlled medications for conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, or insomnia may be prescribed through telehealth. Controlled medications will not be refilled early if lost, stolen, or misplaced.

How do medication refill requests work?

Medication refills are typically provided during scheduled appointments to ensure continuity of care. Patients are encouraged to schedule follow-up appointments in advance to avoid interruptions in treatment. Refill requests may be submitted through the patient portal, by phone, or by email. Requests are typically addressed within 2 business days. For controlled medications, follow-up appointments are generally required every 1–3 months.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We work with Alma for insurance billing and currently accept plans including Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, and UHC/Optum. Coverage varies by plan, and eligibility will be verified prior to your appointment.

Do you offer self-pay appointments?

Yes. Private pay options are available. Initial Evaluation: $275 | Follow-Up Appointments: $175

How do payments work?

We accept secure online payments, including HSA/FSA cards. Payment is due at the time of service, and a card on file is required.

Can I receive a superbill?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Patients using out-of-network benefits may request a superbill for possible reimbursement through their insurance provider.

What if I am running late?

Please contact the office as soon as possible. Patients arriving more than 10 minutes late may need to reschedule.

Are there fees for late cancellations or missed appointments?

Accepted Answer

We require at least 24 business hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling requests. Missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a fee. Repeated missed appointments may result in discharge from the practice.

Do you complete FMLA or accommodation paperwork?

FMLA, accommodation, and short-term disability paperwork may be considered for established patients who have been under the provider's care for at least 90 days and require an appointment for evaluation. Administrative fees may apply for forms, paperwork, or letters. Minds At Work Psychiatry does not complete long-term disability evaluations.

Do you offer ADHD testing or GeneSight testing?

Yes. Additional testing services may be available when clinically appropriate. QBTech ADHD testing is an objective computerized assessment that helps evaluate attention, activity level, and impulsivity. This is a cash-pay service. GeneSight pharmacogenomic testing may help guide medication selection by analyzing how your body may process certain psychiatric medications.
